Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for injection molding?
Our MOQ varies by project complexity. For production molds, typical MOQ starts at 1,000–5,000 pieces. For low-volume production using bridge tooling, we can produce as few as 100–500 parts. Contact us with your specific requirements for a tailored solution.
How long does it take to make an injection mold?
Standard lead time for injection mold fabrication is 4–8 weeks depending on complexity. Simple single-cavity molds can be completed in 2–3 weeks, while complex multi-cavity molds with hot runners may take 8–12 weeks. We also offer expedited service for urgent projects.
What materials can be injection molded?
We work with over 400 thermoplastic materials including PP, PE, ABS, PC, PA (Nylon), POM, PMMA, TPE, TPU, PEEK, PPSU, PEI, LCP, and PPA. We can recommend the best material for your application based on mechanical properties, thermal requirements, chemical resistance, and cost targets.
What tolerances can you achieve in injection molding?
Standard commercial injection molding tolerances are ±0.1mm (±0.005″). With optimized mold design and process control, we can achieve precision tolerances of ±0.01mm (±0.0005″) for critical dimensions. Tolerance capability depends on part geometry, material, and mold design.
Do you offer mold warranty?
Yes. All production molds come with a warranty covering normal wear and tear. Mold lifespan depends on material (aluminum molds: ~1,000–10,000 shots; steel molds: 500,000–1,000,000+ shots). We also offer mold maintenance and refurbishment services to extend tool life.
